Level 3: Kindergarten – Early Fluency Readers
As we prepare for another school year, it’s important to ensure that our kids are fully equipped with the necessary skills for academic and personal success. Our “School Ready” course is designed to help kids develop essential skills that will enable them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Course Content
Storytime: Read and discuss “Mia Makes a Lovely Day,” a story about positive self-esteem, kindness, and courage. Focus on the characters’ point of view, the story setting, the story problem, and the solution.
Language Arts: Explore first, second, and third-person perspectives. Identify and interpret important details. Writing sentences and paragraphs.
Social Emotional: Develop positive self-esteem and self-confidence while learning how to recognize bullying and what to do about it. Learn how to include others.
Community: Learn about rules at school, at home, and in your community.
Scientific Concepts: Discuss ecosystems, living in groups, endangered species, and environmental footprints. Activities include creating a plan for your community.
Math: Experiment with non-standard measurement, tools, and units of measurement, and learn how to measure. Analyze the circumference and distance of bicycle wheels.
